While the wallpaper that comes with the computer background is all fine and dandy, it’s a rather bland image. While you definitely know that you’re on a Window’s computer, it’s more fun to stare at something you’re interested in.
With all the updates brought on by the new versions of Windows, it can be confusing to navigate. As of the current versions of Windows 10, this is our suggestions on how to perfect your desktop background.
Choose Your Style
An obvious choice, but the first step on having a rad background is finding images that you enjoy! Choose a variety of images that you like (you’ll see why at the end of this article) and put them all in one folder. Save this folder in a location that’s easy to access or get to.
Your style can depend on the month, the season, a favorite hobby, your favorite animal, fan art, or so much more! The sky is the limit. Check out some of the wallpapers that we have on our site.
How To Set It Up
You’ll want to start off by clicking on the windows icon or tapping the windows key. The icon is located at the lower right-hand corner of the screen. Either of these options will open up the start menu.
On the list towards the left, you’ll want to select “Settings.” The next thing is “Personalization”, then “Background.” The window that opens allows you to preview whatever wallpaper image you wish to choose. This is where that folder comes into play.
Choose the box for either a picture, solid color, or slideshow for your desktop. After choosing “picture,” browse your computer for the image you want in the file explorer. Once an image is selected, it’ll show you the current layout of the photo. If this looks incorrect, you have the ability to fit, fill, tile, stretch, or center the item.
Get Fancy: Create A Slideshow
Instead of just choosing one image for the background, you have the ability to cycle through a variety of choices. You can have this gallery change anytime between every few minutes or even every day!
Instead of choosing “picture” underneath “background” choose the option “Slideshow.” This is where that nifty little folder comes in handy yet again. The system will cycle through the photos in the folder at every designated time period.
